The city has been referred to as the world's most compact metropolis and the "Peace Capital". In 2009 and 2011, Geneva was ranked as, respectively, the fourth and fifth most expensive city in the world.

FDA had approved 30 first-time PMAs and three HDEs in 2015 to 2016, representing a 50% increase over the 20 first-time PMAs approved in the same period last year. The cardiology industry is expected to grow at 4.4% (CAGR) to $54.2bn in 2020.
